Evaluation of the princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Volunteer Patricia Program and Mental Health Suicide Awareness Workshops
The Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Association (PPCLI Association) initiated Mental Health Suicide Awareness (MHSA) Workshops in June 2017 under the auspices of its Volunteer Patricia Program (VPP). After delivering the program for over two years and helping numerous veterans and their families, it was determined that the VPP and MHSA workshops should be reviewed using an evidence-based model. A Proactive approach to Peer Support and the Well-being of Veterans and their Families
The PPCLI Association with the assistance of Dr Jim Thompson, CIMHVR Research Consultant has completed a preliminary evidence-based review of peer support provided to Veterans and families since Oct 17. The report describes the development of the Association’s peer support program and summarizes its effectiveness. It shows how the PPCLI Association supports the CAF-VAC Joint Suicide Prevention Strategy and Veterans’ well-being. Read the full report
Soldats en Bonne Sante et Veterans en Bonne Sante Sensibilisation au Suicide et Prevention
La filiale du sud-ouest de l’Ontario (South West Ontario) de l’Association du PPCLI a en reaction a un suicide tragique, en janvier 2016, entrepris un examen des programmes de prevention du suicide des veterans, qui avait pour but de determiner l’ampleur du probleme et ce que, eventuellement, l’Association pourrait faire pour contribuer aux efforts de sensibilisation au suicide et de prevention.
